8-Bit Demakes of Classic TV Show Themes

If you listen to the Retroist Podcast, you probably hear the music of site regular Peachy all the time. In addition to making very fine original music he also engages in a hobby. He likes to remake or “demake” classic TV shows in 8-bit format. He just released a fresh crop of them on his Soundcloud page and each one is wonderful (I am sure you will hear them again on some future podcast). So give them a listen, download them and enjoy some re-interpreted TV audio magic.

  1. I own many tapes (yes cassette tapes) of Peachy from the late 90s/early 2000 thrashing around on a guitar like a demented Al Jourgensen. Oh what a fine noise he made then, and clearly still does now.

  2. Great Peachy sounds!
I’ll be thinking of 8-bit game-playing some favorite TV shows, today.

Great tag at the end of QL!

  3. Dallas actually sounded like a pretty good 8-bit action game soundtrack.

Now it’s stuck in my head…dammit…

    Awesome tunes, though!

  4. @Gavin – I would like to hear some of that trashing.

  5. It’ll take me a little while (I live in a diff country to where all my old stuff is now) but once I have it – you’ll have it.

  6. Awesome stuff as always, Peachy! I agree with Atari Adventure Square 100%, that ending on Quantum Leap is just beautiful. 🙂

  7. @Gavin Buckley
If you ever, ever play those tapes to anyone with ears I would probably spontaneously combust.

Now I need to make a comment that not only makes me seem humble but at the same time agrees with how damned awesome I am 😉

  8. @peachy – In the interest of science and the study of spontaneous combustion, I really need to hear these tapes now.
