Retroist Rubik’s Cube Podcast

Retroist Rubik’s Cube Podcast

Welcome to the Retroist Rubik’s Cube Podcast. I am proud to announce the premiere of the Retroist Podcast. Today’s show is all about one of my favorite pop culture icons, “The Rubik’s Cube”.

During the show I mention some fun facts about the Magic Cube, listen to some great old commercials and of course discuss the “Rubik, the Amazing Cube” animated series.

This is my first episode and I am anticipating changed to pacing and format over time. I also will try and add some new voices. So please bear with me while I work through this process and hopefully you will enjoy the shows I put out on my journey.

A couple years ago I saw a guy at FAO Schwartz solving the Rubik’s Cube in a couple minutes, while talking on a headset to the audience. He sounded like the announcer for the Micro Machines commercials.

A fast talking cube solver? This guy must have been a god!

It would be AWESOME if this was a video with the podcast over the background. Maybe something like what That Guy With the Glasses does.

  6. The Retroist

I’ll have to think about that for a version 2.0 or something.

are you kidding me? an animated series? zsa zsa gabor? solved in 7 seconds? my mind is blown in the first minute.

I remember we had a contest in our history class. I came in second with solving the cube in 43 sec. Ohhh those were the days! Just bought one for my daughter who is 10.

Hate to be a nit picker but Eva Gabor was in Green Acres, not her sister.

Nothing nitpicky about it. I kept waiting for someone to spot it. I keep thinking I need to revisit the Rubik’s Cube, I have learned a lot about making shows since I cobbled this together.
